GLP-1 Weight Loss Medications
GLP-1 medications mimic a natural gut hormone that helps regulate appetite, blood sugar, and digestion. By curbing appetite, reducing cravings, and slowing how quickly you digest food, they make it far easier to stay in the calorie deficit that weight loss requires. First FDA-approved for weight loss in 2021, GLP-1 treatment has quickly become one of the most widely recognized tools in medical weight loss — and it is the centerpiece of our program.
After a full evaluation, your provider prescribes the GLP-1 medication and dose that fit you, with monitoring at every step.
Semaglutide
Semaglutide is a once-weekly GLP-1 medication that reduces appetite and supports steady, sustainable weight loss. Learn more about semaglutide.
Tirzepatide
Tirzepatide is a dual-action medication (GLP-1 and GIP) that many patients find especially effective for appetite control and weight loss. Learn more about tirzepatide.
Prefer a Non-GLP-1 Option? Phentermine
For patients who do not qualify for a GLP-1, prefer not to use one, or are looking for a lower-cost approach, phentermine is a well-established prescription appetite suppressant we have offered for years. Like everything in our program, it is prescribed and monitored by your provider as part of a supervised plan. Your provider will help you decide whether a GLP-1 or phentermine is the better starting point for you.
How Our Program Works
Our program is personalized and data-driven. Your first visit includes a full body-composition analysis, weight-focused lab work, a review of your medical history, and one-on-one time with a nurse practitioner. From there, your provider designs a plan around your body and goals, adjusts your treatment as you progress, and monitors your results so care stays safe and effective.
Do You Qualify for Medical Weight Loss?
Many adults in Houston qualify for treatment. In general, you may be a candidate if you are considered overweight or obese, or have a BMI of 25 or higher. Your provider confirms your candidacy after your evaluation, so the best next step is to contact us.

Medical Weight Loss FAQs
Is GLP-1 weight loss safe?
GLP-1 medications are prescribed and monitored by your provider. Like any medication they can have side effects, which is exactly why our program includes ongoing check-ins and dose adjustments. Your provider will review the benefits and risks for your situation.
How much weight can I lose?
Results vary from person to person and depend on your starting point, medication, dose, and consistency; individual results may vary. Our goal is safe, steady, sustainable weight loss, and your provider will set realistic expectations for you.
How much do GLP-1 medications cost?
Our clinic is cash-pay, so office visits are billed directly to you — we do not bill insurance, and there are no membership fees. Medication cost is separate and depends on your prescription drug coverage: cash-pay GLP-1 medications start at $149 per month, and if you have prescription coverage your medication may cost as little as $25 per month (qualifying Medicare Part D patients pay $50 per month through the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program). When your plan requires it, we submit the prior authorization at no charge to help get your medication covered.
What if I do not qualify for a GLP-1?
You still have options. Phentermine and other approaches can be appropriate for patients who are not candidates for a GLP-1 or prefer not to use one. Your provider will recommend the best starting point after your evaluation.
What is the difference between semaglutide and tirzepatide?
Both are GLP-1 medications. Semaglutide targets the GLP-1 pathway, while tirzepatide works on two pathways (GLP-1 and GIP). Which one is right for you depends on your health and goals, and your provider will recommend the best fit.
Do I qualify for medical weight loss in Houston?
You may be a candidate if you are considered overweight or obese, or have a BMI of 25 or higher. A provider confirms candidacy after a body-composition analysis, lab work, and a medical history review.
