NAD+ Injections

Consultations offered at our three convenient locations in Houston, Katy, and Webster, TX

NAD+ injections are used in some wellness settings as part of individualized care plans. NAD+ plays a role in cellular energy production, and supplementation may help support general wellness under clinical supervision. Because NAD+ injections help to improve cellular function and energy production, they offer a wide variety of benefits. We are excited to offer this to our patients as a wellness and energy boosting complement to our weight loss program!

What is NAD+?

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) is found in every living cell, serving as an essential cofactor – the compounds necessary for the activity of molecular machines (enzymes) – involved in biological processes. Initially discovered in 1906, NAD+ has seen a resurgence in research continually showing that NAD+ is critical for maintaining the health of our cells, tissues, and bodies.

What are the benefits of NAD+?

Some patients report experiencing changes such as improved energy levels; experiences differ among individuals. NAD+ may be used as part of a clinical wellness plan to support energy regulation. Individual responses and experiences vary. NAD+ may be used to support post-exercise recovery strategies when clinically appropriate.

Increases Metabolism

NAD+ improves the function of metabolic enzymes which can increase metabolic rate.

Improves Mental Clarity

Because NAD+ plays a role in cellular metabolism, supplementation may help support normal cellular function, including energy pathways related to cognitive functioning. Individual outcomes vary.

Increases Energy Level & Stamina

NAD+ supplementation may support normal metabolic processes. Responses vary, and effects may differ from person to person.

Better Muscle Recovery

Exercise causes tiny tears/damage to muscles fibers and DNA. NAD+ activates enzymes vital to DNA repair which expedites recovery post-workout.

Anti-Aging

NAD+ levels naturally decline with age, and some individuals explore supplementation as part of their wellness routines. NAD+ may support normal cellular processes; outcomes vary.

FAQ

How are NAD+ injections different than NAD+ oral supplements?

Boosting NAD+ levels through oral supplementation (pills) isn’t as effective as through NAD+ injection, because the digestion process reduces the amount of NAD+ available for your body to use. NAD+ supplements only contain the building blocks of NAD+ and not the full NAD+ molecule. Bypassing the intestinal tract through injection enables your body to fully absorb and utilize the NAD+ being administered.

What are the side effects of NAD+?

While generally well tolerated, possible side effects may include nausea, temporary fatigue, headache, cramping, redness, tenderness, or swelling at the injection site. Patients should discuss symptoms or concerns with their clinician.

Who should not take NAD+?

Individuals with history of cancer or who are currently undergoing cancer treatment, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or individuals with severe liver, kidney, cardiovascular disease or bleeding disorders.
